Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base: Review & Swatches

Most of the girls like using concealer as an eyeshadow base but I always prefer eyeshadow primer or base because I feel eyeshadow base does work well for that specific area. Today I will be reviewing Essence I Love stage Eyeshadow Base. My absolute favorite eyeshadow primer is luscious angel eyes eyeshadow primer which I already reviewed, you can check that here if you haven’t yet. This essence eyeshadow base comes with another variant as well called I love Intensifying that is for intense color.

This eyeshadow base comes in a see through plastic tube with black cap which is actually a doe- foot applicator.

My Thoughts

It is a light peach color eyeshadow base more like a peach color corrector. Formula is creamy and easy to blend over your lid. It will work best if you have dark eyelids. It covers the darkness and imperfections well. If you have fair complexion then it might make your eyelids little bit dark. It does double the eyeshadow pigment (as you can see in the photo), so if I use it with pigmented colors it did make the color intense which mostly I do not like. It works very well with non pigmented eyeshadows that’s the reason I like this base a lot. It does hold the eyeshadow for quite long and prevent it from smudging.

You can use it for everyday looks if you do neutral looks as I do. I do not like this for glam intense looks as it makes eyeshadow more intense and dark. So it is a must have eyeshadow base in your makeup drawer to make less pigmented eyeshadows more pigmented.

Would I Recommend

I would definitely recommend this base because we all have some eyeshadows in our makeup stash which are not pigmented, so we can get the pigment by using this base.

I hope you find this post helpful. Do let me know about your thoughts on this base or it’s other variant if you ever used. Comment down below what you prefer more for eyeshadow base?

This one was unfortunately too dark for me, it didn’t match my skin tone at all. I hope they’ll have more shades available because I need good eye shadow base. I’m currently using just a regular concealer and it works, but it doesn’t make eye shadows more pigmented, which would be great as most of my eye shadows are drugstore. xx
